What does the constituents view show?
The constituents view lists the cryptocurrencies that formed the index after the selected quarterly reconstitution. Membership changes only at reconstitution: the index reviews the ranking on the first calendar day of each quarter, removes assets that left the top 30, and admits assets that entered it. The questions and answers section covers the schedule in detail.
What does the weights view show?
The weights view lists the weight applied to every constituent after the selected monthly rebalancing. Weights follow the square root of adjusted market capitalization, are recalculated on the first calendar day of each month, and take effect at 00:00 GMT. The allocation calculator converts current weights into a USD allocation, and the rebalancing explorer shows how weights move from month to month.
Where does the data come from?
Both views read the official index files directly: the quarterly composition file and the monthly weights file. The same files back the published index values, update on the index schedule, and can be downloaded for independent analysis. Definitions and formulas are documented in the methodology manual.
